Yifan Sun

Dr. Yifan Sun is an Associate Professor and Program Director of the Master's in Education program at Rudolf Steiner University College. She obtained her Bachelor's degree in Applied Mathematics from the National University of Singapore. She then pursued her Master's in Psychology and Education, followed by her PhD in Education at the University of Cambridge, with her doctoral research centering on the Waldorf (Steiner) education movement in China.

As an academic researcher and author, Yifan's primary research interests encompass Steiner (Waldorf) education, holistic education, Eastern philosophies, and women's empowerment in Asia. She currently serves as an Associate Editor for the Journal of Contemplative and Holistic Education. Additionally, she holds the position of Secretary for the Confucianism, Taoism, Buddhism, and Education Special Interest Group (SIG) within the American Educational Research Association (AERA). 

Born in China, Yifan’s extensive travels have taken her to more than 70 countries, and she has led expedition trips to Antarctica. Yifan is also an experienced meditation and yoga practitioner. She shares her expertise by facilitating workshops on self-development, mindfulness, and nature-connection. Moreover, she runs coaching programs for youth in China, actively contributing to their personal growth and development.
